Erm… *Blank*

Alex, Crafts, General, Meghan

I just can’t blog. I’ve been sat here for about half an hour trying to find something to blog about and its just not happening. I think I’m broken. Meghan’s still asleep and its 9.30AM. I’m not complaining, I’m just saying. See? Nothing to blog about. Lets do a random bullet pointed post just for the fun of it.

  • I never mentioned anything because of everything else that was/has been going on but I’ve started knitting. I used to do it when my great-nana was alive as she always had to help me with me and I haven’t done any for years. Its Chrissy’s fault that I’m knitting again but I’m glad I picked it back up. I’m currently doing a blanket for Meghan.
  • Speaking of Meghan; I’m glad she’s having a lie in this morning because for the past two/three days, she’s been getting up too early and being in a mood all day. Its just moan, moan, cry, moan, moan, cry all day. Its pretty exhausting in itself. I’ve had naps the past two days because she’s worn me out with it.
  • I’m supposed to be going to the Trafford Centre today because they have opened a Krispy Kreme near there and ever since I heard about them from Zoot, I have always wanted to try one. The weather is pretty bad today though and the bridge we go over to get there is closed at the moment. So either we find a different route or the bridge opens before this afternoon otherwise we can’t go. And that wouldn’t make me very happy :( .
  • Alex is back at work today after having his week off. We’ve had a great few days and I’m going to miss him lots.

A Few Photo’s

Photos

I planned on doing a long blog but I got doing everything else so I leave you with a few photos.

Last night Alex and I went to see Linkin Park. They were amazing. It was also a great night out for me and Alex.

The photo shoot with the lads yesterday went well. I haven’t sorted out all the photo’s yet but here’s one.

I’m doing okay on my 365 Days on Flickr. I’ve missed one day but other than that I’m really enjoying it. Today I did today’s group on the Flickr Group Roulette. I really love this photo.

Photography Work

Health, Photography

If you read the private post I did yesterday (only one person has asked me for the password so only one person will have) then you’ll know that I injured my hand. I won’t go into how and why, you’ll have to read the private post but I spent about two hours in the hospital last night. It happened on Thursday night and I woke up with the same pain on Friday morning. I got a support bandage from town but I thought I’d better go to the hospital to get it checked out as it was really painful. They thought I had broken my hand but I haven’t. It would have only been a slight break anyway. It does seem to be better today but its still aching all the time. I’ll be alright. I don’t want sympathy. It was my own stupid fault.

I am doing photo’s for Alex’s band tomorrow afternoon. They need new photo’s as the old ones don’t have John in them and he joined not long after they were taken. It’ll be nice for me to get out and take some photo’s. I’m also going to be doing some for a band called The Broadcast at the end of February. The singer used to be the singer in Alex’s old band at the very beginning. He’s the person in this photo which is one of my favourites and was actually in a local newspaper :) . Anyway, I saw the drummer who I used to go to college with and told him to get John to text me if he wants me to do any photo’s for him. His girlfriend wants me to do photo’s too for a modeling agency. This is totally new for me but I’ll try my best and hopefully I can give her what she wants. Its so nice to be taking photos again. I just wish it was more regular.

Heath Ledger Found Dead

News

Hollywood actor Heath Ledger has been found dead in his Manhattan apartment from a possible drugs overdose, according to police.
A spokesman said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the apartment in the trendy SoHo neighbourhood. The housekeeper went to tell Ledger the masseuse had arrived and found him dead. The 28-year-old Australian-born actor received an Oscar nomination for the hit film Brokeback Mountain.Ledger met his wife, actress Michelle Williams, on the set in 2005.

They lived in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, but split up last year.

I don’t know what to think. I’m really upset. He was one of my favourite actors. I was just about to watch Brokeback Mountain because I haven’t seen it yet. What the hell is going on?

A Loss

General

I found out early yesterday morning that Amy, of highlandamy.net had passed away. She’s not been around since the middle of September and I thought nothing of it. I mean I went offline for about six months and it was just because I couldn’t afford my internet payments. It happens. I found out from Anna on one of her Flickr photo’s. She was pregnant with her daughter Kylie who was due in December. She had Kylie on the 21st September – who is fine – and she died the following day.

I didn’t really know her but as soon as I saw her name, her face appeared in my head. I’m sure I’ve spoken to her through threads on Lavish and read her blog a few times. All yesterday I could not stop thinking about it. Its just so shocking. I have never lost anyone online before and its crazy that you can still have the same kind of feelings from knowing someone online as you would offline.

RIP Amy. And I hope little Kylie grows up knowing how great her mummy is.

Another Change

Health

Since I’ve gotten the smoking out of the way I thought I better get started on that other goal that I need to get sorted out – losing weight. To be honest, its more toning up than losing weight but I do have weight to lose. I have just joined SparkPeople which looks like its going to be a great place to get me motivated and give me something to keep track of things. I seem to have noticed recently how much weight I have put on. Especially around my stomach. I’m not happy with the way I look at the moment and I need to do something about it before I get back to the weight I was four/five years ago. I do not want to go back there again. I’m going to have a proper look at SparkPeople later on and I start my new healthy eating plan tomorrow. I’m quite excited.

I’m Actually Reading Again

Books, Crafts

The past few weeks I have been spending a lot of time on my DS which meant, not a lot of time to read. The past two days I’ve gotten slightly fed up of playing on it so I’ve been reading instead. I’m still reading The House at Riverton (not surprising considering its 600 pages long) but I’m really enjoying it now. I read around 100 pages yesterday which is a great catch-up because of the not reading anything at all the past few weeks. This is the last library book that I’ll be reading for a while. I’m actually going to get started on my books after this one. I must have at least ten if not more than I’ve bought over the last six months but not actually read. I’m hoping to get this book finished by Monday at the latest. I’m actually finding I’m reading more since I gave up smoking. I need something to replace it and what better than to read!

I really need to pick up my cross stitch again. I say every night that I’m going to get some done but it never happens. I always end up on here. I might try and not come online after Meghan has gone to bed tonight and get some done. I’m currently doing a baby sampler for Meghan and I really want to get it finished so I can have it framed and put on her bedroom wall.

Fifteen Months Old

Letters, Meghan

Dear Meghan,
Well, you’ve grown up a lot this month! For one thing, your finally walking! When we went to the doctors yesterday for your immunisations (which Mummy is very sorry for making you have them but you have to), you would not sit on my knee. You were walking around the waiting area and you kept going to the play area and playing with the bricks. I’d pick you up and bring you back and you’d walk right back over to it again. Its okay though because I made a friend while you were busy playing. We really need to get you some shoes because Daddy can’t wait to take you for a walk to the shop to show you off. You have funny sized feet so they didn’t have your size in the shop yesterday. We’ll try again next week.

Your also learning a lot more words now too. Last week you learnt to say “Elmo” and now you want me to play Elmo video’s on Youtube all the time since we don’t get Sesame Street on the TV anymore. I don’t know what your sudden interest with him is but he will never take over your love of Dora. You can also say the number “two” and I think you know its a number as when we were watching Dora this morning they were counting and you said two before they did. Your so bloody clever. You even walk into the kitchen now and tell me you want something to eat (Nah-One – it means “another one”) or drink (Co-Coh – which is cup).

You wasn’t very well on Monday and even though it wasn’t nice that you were ill, it was lovely because all you wanted to do was lie in my arms watching TV. It was really nice for us to spend some time together like that and its nice to know you need me when your not very well. Mummy’s always make things better when your ill :) .

You’ve decided that sleeping isn’t the best idea in the world. Some nights you sleep from 7PM until 7AM and I don’t hear a sound from you all night. Then there’s the nights when you sleep at 7PM, are awake a couple of times before I come to bed then your up at 1AM and won’t go back to sleep without a bottle, and then again at 5AM. Yeah, Mummy doesn’t like those nights. I just wish you would stick to one routine then at least I would know what to expect. Lets try and sort that out this month.

I can’t wait for this next month to see what you learn and get up to. Lets hope its good, not bad.

Love always, Mummy

Guess What I’ve Finally Done?

Books, General, Meghan, Shopping

I’ve actually, QUIT SMOKING! Can you believe it? Well, its not THAT amazing but I’m so proud of myself :) . Yesterday I just didn’t really feel like having one. Meghan only had her nap at about 2.30PM and that was my first chance to have a cigarette but I just didn’t. My next chance to have one was when Alex got home at 6PM but I thought since I’d done so well all day, there would be no point ruining it. I went all day without one and I’ve barely thought about cigarette’s today. I knew I would do it eventually and I’m so glad I have now. That’s £15 a week I can save towards whatever I want from now on.

I’ve been into town this afternoon as I just needed to get out of the house. I went into Paperchase and treated myself a new diary and four pens. I could have bought so much more in there but I limited myself. I was going to get myself some books from this years Richard & Judy Book Club but I really want to go and have a look at Borders before I do. I want to get some digital photography books and a book on Photoshop. I’ve seen the one I want at Borders and it was £37 so I’d rather save my money for that than buy some more fiction when I have a huge pile to read as it is. My £100 for my anniversary present isn’t going to go on a new camera anymore. I’m just going to buy those books I mentioned and get my provisional drivers license. I need to learn to drive this year. If I don’t, I literally am going to go mad. I hate not being able to go where I want to go, when I want to go. I’m always waiting for either the bus or my mum and however great it is that she takes me places, I’d love to be able to take myself. Hopefully in six months I’ll have passed my test and be saving for a car.

After town I took Meghan for her immunisations. Its the first time I have taken her on my own. Usually Alex comes with us but he had to work today so I just went. It wasn’t too bad. The only thing was, she had to have two injections, one in each leg and after the first one, she knew the second one was coming so she would not sit still on my knee. She really cried after that second one. She seems fine though. I just hope she doesn’t have a reaction to the MMR. I wasn’t sure whether I wanted her to have it or not because of the stuff I had read about it but most babies are fine with it so fingers crossed. Anyway, she has to go back in three weeks for another jab that she missed in November. Three jabs in three weeks is not nice.
