Eight days ’til Christmas!

Family, General, Meghan

Yes thats right, only eight days until Christmas! I’m really excited! I wasn’t this time last month but I am now, mainly because I managed to get some money to buy everyone presents and I feel much better now. Oh and Alex and Emelye put the Christmas tree up yesterday while I was in Liverpool with my parents and Amy. Meghan loves the tree. Well she sits and stares at it for about fifteen minutes and then gets bored. She has a thing about lights though so thats probably why. I still need to wrap all my presents and get a couple more cards that I forgot about but I’m almost done and now I can’t wait for it to get here.

I don’t know whats happening where Emelye’s concerned this year. We’re not having her on Christmas Eve because she stayed with us last year and I don’t even know if we’re having her Christmas Day or not yet. I want it sorted it out by Tuesday though because I like to know whats happening in advance. I hate knowing the day before especially where something as important as Christmas is concerned.

Meghan’s two months old today. It feels like its gone too quickly but then I also feel like I’ve had her forever. She had her six week check-up last Wednesday (at eight weeks…) and she weighed 11lb 14. She’s also quite tall apparently. She has her first lot of injections tomorrow which I’m dreading and then I have my postnatal check-up on Wednesday. I’ll be glad to get them both out of the way to be honest.

Alex has started working, sort of. He did a 12 hour night shift on Thursday, 6PM-6AM and he’s working 6AM-6PM tomorrow. I’m hoping he gets something a bit more permanant really but its a start. He said he’s rather do nights as the money is so much better and its only Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so he’ll have the rest of the week to do what he wants. I just worry that he’ll wear himself out having to swap his body clock around during those days he has off. We’ll see what happens.

Anyway, I have to get home. Meghan’s hungry and I’d rather get her home first before I feed her as its not really been that long since her last feed. She’s a bit of a hungry baby!
