Christmas In September

Crafts, Shopping

Yes, its September and yes I’m about to talk about Christmas. I have started really early this year. Its more because of the fact that I have at least three, if not more people that I am knitting gifts for this year. Ever since I’ve switched to circular needles to make my Ravenclaw scarf, I’ve really enjoyed knitting. Coming away from those straight, boring needles and even more boring K1 P1 scarves has really made me love knitting. I plan on making Meghan and Emelye matching hats and scarves, Alex a hat and scarf and my sister, Amy and a friend some gloves. I’m really looking forward to doing it all but I think I’m going to have to have two projects on the go at once to actually get them all done in time.

As well as making a few people gifts, I’ve also start buying my Christmas gifts through Avon, using my discount to my advantage! I’ve bought a couple of frangance sets and something for Amy that I know she’ll love. They will get here next week with my order along with my new catalouge so I can buy a few more gifts in next months order. I know I won’t regret buying gifts this early come December when everyone will be struggling to fight the crowds and be worrying about their bank balances. Every Christmas is a budget but it makes things so much easier this way.

If I get one more diet pills link I think I will go mad. I really have run out of ideas of how to incorporate it into my blog.

Blogging For the Sake of It

Crafts, General

Thats pretty much what I’m doing since I can’t think of anything to blog about but I want to. Exciting stuff eh?

I finished my scarf on Saturday night :) . I’m really pleased with how its come out and I can’t wait to wear it outside. I still need to weave all the ends in but I’m hopefully going to nip to Hobbycraft this week to get a crochet needle to do so. Since I’ve finished it, I’ve been looking for something else that I can knit. Even though I’ve only done the one, I’m getting a bit sick of doing scarfs. I have seen a pattern that I want to do but I’m worried that its a bit too hard since I’m still a beginner. I can always give it a go and see how it comes out. I’d like to knit a hat though. I love hats and I’d always wear it. I’ll have to have a look through Ravelry tonight and see what I can find.

It snowed yesterday! I woke up yesterday morning with Meghan, come downstairs, opened the curtains and gasped! It looked so pretty. It didn’t last that long though because as soon as the sun came out, it all melted quite quickly. I guess thats our snow for the whole year. At least I can say we had SOME.

Erm… *Blank*

Alex, Crafts, General, Meghan

I just can’t blog. I’ve been sat here for about half an hour trying to find something to blog about and its just not happening. I think I’m broken. Meghan’s still asleep and its 9.30AM. I’m not complaining, I’m just saying. See? Nothing to blog about. Lets do a random bullet pointed post just for the fun of it.

  • I never mentioned anything because of everything else that was/has been going on but I’ve started knitting. I used to do it when my great-nana was alive as she always had to help me with me and I haven’t done any for years. Its Chrissy’s fault that I’m knitting again but I’m glad I picked it back up. I’m currently doing a blanket for Meghan.
  • Speaking of Meghan; I’m glad she’s having a lie in this morning because for the past two/three days, she’s been getting up too early and being in a mood all day. Its just moan, moan, cry, moan, moan, cry all day. Its pretty exhausting in itself. I’ve had naps the past two days because she’s worn me out with it.
  • I’m supposed to be going to the Trafford Centre today because they have opened a Krispy Kreme near there and ever since I heard about them from Zoot, I have always wanted to try one. The weather is pretty bad today though and the bridge we go over to get there is closed at the moment. So either we find a different route or the bridge opens before this afternoon otherwise we can’t go. And that wouldn’t make me very happy :( .
  • Alex is back at work today after having his week off. We’ve had a great few days and I’m going to miss him lots.

I’m Actually Reading Again

Books, Crafts

The past few weeks I have been spending a lot of time on my DS which meant, not a lot of time to read. The past two days I’ve gotten slightly fed up of playing on it so I’ve been reading instead. I’m still reading The House at Riverton (not surprising considering its 600 pages long) but I’m really enjoying it now. I read around 100 pages yesterday which is a great catch-up because of the not reading anything at all the past few weeks. This is the last library book that I’ll be reading for a while. I’m actually going to get started on my books after this one. I must have at least ten if not more than I’ve bought over the last six months but not actually read. I’m hoping to get this book finished by Monday at the latest. I’m actually finding I’m reading more since I gave up smoking. I need something to replace it and what better than to read!

I really need to pick up my cross stitch again. I say every night that I’m going to get some done but it never happens. I always end up on here. I might try and not come online after Meghan has gone to bed tonight and get some done. I’m currently doing a baby sampler for Meghan and I really want to get it finished so I can have it framed and put on her bedroom wall.
