Is the one day I just don’t have the time. I got up fairly early but I took my time getting ready as my mum was only picking me and Meghan up at 11AM to go to town. I assumed we were only going to be in town for a maximum of two hours but I only got home at around 2.20PM. Meghan usually has her nap at 2.30PM but since we’ve only just had lunch and I have to go out yet again (twice, I might add), I just don’t have the time for her to nap. If she falls asleep while I’m out that’s fine but I guarantee that she won’t. She has to be absolutely exhausted to fall asleep in her pram and that’s a very rare occasion. I promised Alex’s mum that I would go and let her dogs out and I need to go and walk Daxter. I also need to go and do Avon but I think I might leave that until Alex gets home from work as yesterday I ended up coming home early because of all the stupid, idiotic children being idiotic. I hate high school kids. Anyway; so I’m thinking if I go after around 7PM once Meghan’s in bed, hopefully it will be a little bit better. I still have two orders that I need to give out but I’ve already paid my order to Avon online. All the money I get now is mine to keep. Lets hope I manage to get it all done because I’m really busy again tomorrow and I just won’t have time to do any Avon tomorrow at all. At least I have another week before my order is due in so it gives me a little bit of time.
I was watching one of those really cheesy chat shows the other day. You know the one, “Your baby is not my baby because you had sex with 2349074 other people at the same time as me!” “No I didn’t! I only had sex with 398 people!” “Well I want a DNA test because I don’t think the baby is mine even though its been seven years and its taken me this long to actually do anything about it!” Well yeah, I was watching one of those because I love them. Anyway it was about drug rehabilitation that this woman wanted her daughter to have. Its quite scary when you think about the fact that it could be your child. Being a drug addict is definitely one of those things that you dread for your child as they are turning into a young adult. I wouldn’t even know if there was a drug rehab centre around here. I suppose that’s a good thing in a way as it means that I’ve never needed one! I bet most of us have tried even just one drug at some point but there’s a difference between having them once and having an addiction.

The summer is finally over. And do you know how I know this? Big Brother is over. The final was on Friday and the winner was a bit of a shock (I don’t know if I’m happy or sad because I had no idea who I wanted to win out of who was left). Usually I’m sad to see it finish and I don’t know what to do with all the free time I have but this time around, I’m glad its over. I’ve realised how much time it really takes up. Its all I watch all summer and I get very upset if I miss one night of it. I think this summer I missed about three shows and it was still too much for me.
One thing that comes with the autumn is decent TV shows! Wife Swap started a couple of weeks back as did How Clean Is Your House?. Last week, Prison Break, Desperate Housewives AND Ugly Betty restarted. The bad part about that is that I am very, very behind on all three of them. I watched Ugly Betty and I was totally lost as to what had happened. I think tonight, after Wife Swap has finished, I might try and catch up with Desperate Housewives. Alex is a big fan of Prison Break so I’m going to have to catch up while he’s here with me. I’m quite annoyed with the whole writers strike because 24 was supposed to start at the beginning of this year and its still not ready to be aired. Hopefully it won’t be much longer than the New Year because I don’t think I can wait much further past there.
Alex and I have been talking about getting a new TV after our holiday in April. We’ve seen a 52″ HD TV for under £1000 and we are hoping to get one in the next 18 months or so. We also want a new surround sound system and DVD player. Our DVD player skips any DVD we put in it. Alex has opened it up and cleaned it out but its not made much difference. Our surround system is okay but its not amazing. I think we just need something with an upgrade. We’re thinking about getting Sky+ too so we can record our programs when we can’t watch them at the time they’re on. My parents have it and I really miss it from when I lived with them.
I’ve always wanted a cinema room in my house with a huge screen and really comfortable home theater seating. It would be great to watch films in that kind of setting all the time, or even just TV shows! I love going to the cinema just for the atmosphere but having it in your own house would be even better. That’s definitely on our must have list in our house if we ever became millionaires. That and a gym.

I’ll admit it; we watch way too much TV in our house. The TV is on from the moment we wake up until the moment we go to bed. Much like the computer. We have Sky Digital downstairs and a Freeview box upstairs (I wish we had the Slingbox in the UK, we could have Sky upstairs too then). Growing up, I was watching TV from a very young age and I can safely say it didn’t make me into an idiot. When people come across with “TV makes your kids stupid” then I totally have to disagree. Take Alex’s family – Alex never watched TV at all, he was always out playing with his mates and he never did any homework, didn’t care about school and basically came out with miniumum qualifications. His older brother on the other hand, watched TV all day, did well in school, went to college, went to university and has recently graduated as an accountant. I don’t like Meghan watching TV all day but you learn so much from it. We mainly have Cbeebies on and its a lot of story telling and learning about animals and things and its taught her a lot. Programs like Dora the Explorer and Yo Gabba Gabba on Nick Jr are great as she joins in and sings and dances.
I don’t let her sit on the couch all day eating and watching TV while I’m sitting at the computer all day. We do read stories and go out for walks and play with her toys and I do think she watches too much but, it never did me any harm.

If you were keeping up with my Twitter yesterday you would have seen that I wasn’t feeling too good. It went from aching a bit and having a sore throat to really aching, really sore throat, a headache and shivering. I’m thinking I’m either very run down (which is possible) or the flu. I feel a lot better today though. I think I’m still going to get back in bed once Alex gets up. I had a nap yesterday afternoon and then I went to bed at 7.30PM once I’d put Meghan to bed. I went to sleep shivering and woke up at 9.30PM sweating. I felt a lot better when I was sweating though. I just hope I don’t feel worse again as the day goes on.
Alex and I watched the final episode of Lost Season 3 last night. I was a bit disappointed to be honest. It ended at a stupid time and everything was left up in the air. I know that usually happens at the end of a series but it was really up in the air. I’m trying to get hold of season four so we don’t have to wait until it comes out on DVD. Its just finished on the TV here last week so we missed out on watching it on there.
In some more, rather better news; I’m on day two of my non-smoking effort. Yesterday morning when I woke up just feeling a bit rough, I decided that I wanted to stop smoking. As the day went on and I started to feel worse, I just didn’t want a cigarette. So, I think this a good start. I’ve not thrown my remaining cigarette’s away because I need to know they are there. I know I’ll feel loads better in a couple of weeks once its all out of my system.

I’ve had loads of problems internet wise with this laptop today. FireFox has been refusing to load at all and Internet Explorer is just unusable. I mean how the hell do people still use that thing? Its terrible! Its finally behaving itself but I have to say thanks to Sarah for uploading WordPress to my new project for me this morning. My FTP client just refused to work and after sitting here for ten minutes uploading file by file through my file manager, I gave up and asked her. I’m hoping I get the new place up and running properly in the next couple of days but its hard work with this piece of crap. I shouldn’t complain considering the fact that I am able to come online. Well, sometimes.
I’m off to watch Lost in a minute. We’re up to about episode 14 of season three so it won’t be long before we are all caught up. Obviously we won’t be able to actually watch season four until it comes out on DVD as we’ve missed at least ten episodes of it already. But once we’ve finished Lost, Prison Break season three is out on DVD on Monday. We missed quite a few and our favourite website for watching Prison Break suddenly died so we just stopped watching it. I couldn’t even tell you where we are up to. Anyone know whats going on with 24? The new season was apparently supposed to start last January and I haven’t even heard anything of it. I’m guessing its to do with the writers strike but we’re almost into June and its still not being shown. This season looked so good too. I’ve been really looking forward to it.
I saw a friend from school who I haven’t seen for ages the other day. When we were at school together, she had a lot of problems with acne. She was always trying out loads of different acne treatment but nothing seemed to work. Anyway, when I saw her, her skin has cleared up loads. I’m really happy for her. I’m the horrible friend who has beautifully clear skin so I never had the problems she did. It was nice to see her again too

We have two nice days in a row! Whats going on?! I’m really pleased though. For someone who used to hate summer and would stay in from June to September, I’ve sure changed my tune. To be honest though, knowing British weather, next week it will be cold, windy and raining constantly. I’m just going to enjoy the sun while I can.
You know the one thing I do hate about the summer though? All the insects. I caught not one, but two wasps that were in my house yesterday. I HATE wasps. They’re such evil little bastards aren’t they? I don’t mind bee’s as they leave you alone as long as you leave them alone but wasps attack as soon as they see you. I hate all the flies too. Especially since my blood is the nicest tasting thing ever to them and once I get bitten once, thats it for the whole summer.
Alex and I watched episodes five and six of Lost Season 3 last night. Every time we stick it on, we’re just transfixed for the next however long it is we watch it for. Hopefully Alex isn’t too tired and then we can watch the next two episodes tonight so I can send the disk back.
While we were watching Lost last night, I think it was Kate who was in a hotel and Alex said that he’d love to stay in a hotel again. So would I to be honest. Alex and I haven’t stayed in a hotel together since June 2005. I think for our anniversary next year we will let Meghan stay with either my mum or Alex’s mum so we can stay in a hotel in Manchester for the night. The laughlin hotels look nice, its a shame they don’t have any ove here. I think we’ll stay in the Hilton. Its an amazing building and I’ve always wanted to stay in a Hilton hotel
. How I’ll feel about leaving Meghan overnight at someone else’s house when it actually comes to it will be a different matter but I really would love a night just me and Alex.

I ran into HMV yesterday – no I’m not joking – as at the very front of the store, they had loads and loads of the complete series of the Mysterious Cities of Gold. You do not understand how much I used to love this show when I was younger. Its just… amazing. The box set is £43 which is a bit steep but I honestly don’t care because I really have to have it. If you haven’t seen it, you really should. Plus it has THE best theme tune ever. Don’t believe me? Look.

I meant to blog but I’m laughing my head off at Michael McIntyre. Amy told me about him and I love him. He’s so funny. You have to watch it.
Edit: I tried to put the video’s on the page but it went and F’d up my layout so here are the links instead – Part One, Part Two and Part Three.

I’m blogging today in the afternoon rather than tonight so I can go to bed early. I was online until 11.30PM last doing… well nothing. After Meghan’s gone to bed tonight I’m going to try and not come online. There are plenty of other things I could be doing. I want to get in bed for 9PM so I can watch a new series thats starting on ITV1 called Sold. I only want to watch it because the girl who played Cassie in Hex is in it. It does look good though.
Meghan’s currently napping. She’s not been too good at all today. I’ve not bothered getting her dressed out of her PJ’s because we’re not going anywhere. She was good girl and played in her playpen for about an hour while I washed the dishes and made lunch. I better wash the dishes, again so I can make her dinner for tonight. I want to make it now so its done and I don’t have to make two different things later on. Alex has practice so I have to make dinner for when he gets home from work.
Speaking of Alex and work. He rang me about half an hour ago saying he’s trapped his fingers in a machine again. I told him he better get to the hospital and to let me know if he does go. I haven’t heard anything yet but I hope he’s okay. He really needs to be more careful.

Do you know that its six weeks until Christmas today? Do you know that means I can put my tree and decorations up in two and a half weeks (I’m putting it up on December 2nd just because I planned to put it up on the first Sunday in December)? Do you know how excited I am? Last year, we were both out of work with a new baby and tons of stress. We had hardly any money and just weren’t looking forward to Christmas at all. This year, Alex has a full-time job where he is doing as much overtime as his body will let him so we can have a fantastic Christmas. I’ve already started buying presents. I’ve started buying decorations. I just cannot wait this year. This year will be a proper family Christmas. It can’t come quick enough for me
.
Alex and I finished watching 24 season six last night. I can’t wait for the next season in the new year. It was so good and I can’t wait to find out what happens to everyone. We’re up to date with Prison Break season three now. Its so good. We’re gonna start on Lost soon.
