I’ve started making an effort into getting my photography business up and running. I made myself a Facebook fan page while I’m getting my website sorted out and I already have 100 fans and have had three enquiries and one booking already. I need to look into getting my website finished so I can properly show my photos off and also have prices up instead of having people email me about them. Its nice to have people actually see my work now though. I’m glad I made that Facebook page as its had a lot more interest than I thought it would have.

I have been away for a few days last week photographing a wedding as an assistant. The ceremony was at a church and then the reception and evening was at a safari park. You had to drive through the safari park to get to the lodge where the reception was so I had a mini safari tour and saw rhinos, camels, giraffes, elephants and deer. It was a really nice wedding too and the couple were lovely. There’s was nothing too fancy like a huge dress and tuxedos, just really pretty and simple. I didn’t get paid for this one but I have another wedding in August and maybe one in July too. Looks like the work is coming in slowly.

I can’t get off my DS – well until Meghan gets hold of it and decides she wants a go lol. I’ve just been playing Super Mario Bros and I was on a bit where it was bouncy and I can’t get the feeling away that I’m bouncing! Its really annoying.

Alex and I are spending the rest of the night together so I’m gonna get off. I’ll leave you with this photo from the ones that I’ve finally sorted out of Alex’s gig back at the end of April. I’ve been meaning to do them for weeks but I had about 140 photos and I just couldn’t be bothered, haha.

Yesterday, after I bought my new Micro SD memory card, I found a £15 voucher than ebay had given me. I read through all the terms to make sure it wasn’t a big con and it seemed okay so I went looking for that lens I have been wanting for ages – the Canon 50mm f/1.8. I found one for the total price of £20 with only £5 postage and I got very giddy and almost bought it. I then thought to look at it a little bit more before I committed to buying. Its a good job I did, as it was a 35mm lens, not a digital lens. That really burst my bubble a bit. It burst even more than I looked at the digital lens that I wanted and it was £30 more expensive.

I’ll get that lens one day.

I have just had THE worst pizza I have ever had. The one night I order in while Alex isn’t here (he doesn’t like pizza) and I order somewhere new and it was horrible. I feel really sick now.

Anyway, Meghan’s in the nursery for an hour tomorrow from 10AM. I’m hoping it goes well. Obviously an hour isn’t going to be anything like when she’s there for a full eight hours but its a start. I’m hoping to get her in again on Thursday for two hours. Fingers crossed it goes well!

Alex’s gig last night went really well. They had good feedback from both gigs they did apart from the vocals not being loud enough but that wasn’t their fault. I don’t understand why Alex says that he’s crap all the time because he’s far from it. He’s improved so much since I first got with him and I think its about time he got some recognition for it. Lets hope this band gets further than his last band did.

Photo wise; they didn’t turn out that well. The lighting was really low but I managed to save some in Photoshop. I really need that new lens. I’m sorry for my lack of posting. I’m just lazy to be honest. I’ve not really been that busy so I have no excuse. I’ve started the day with every intention of blogging but not actually doing it. And now I’m here I have no idea what to write so I’m doing one of those cool bulleted posts. Enjoy!

• I went to bed at 7PM last night after I put Meghan to bed because I felt so sick. I didn’t get up again until 7.45Am this morning when Meghan woke up. I feel loads better after that long sleep though and it helped me stop feeling sick which was the plan.
• I had a dream about Carlos from Desperate Housewives last night. It was very sexy, although no actual sex took place. He’s never been the guy I liked from the show so I don’t really know where it came from. I really can’t wait for the new series to start again next Wednesday now .
• Alex has two gigs tonight. He might actually be on stage now to be honest. I’m going to the later one, leaving at about 7.30PM. I’m taking photos and for another band that are playing too. Lets hope I can pull some photos out of nothing for them because if I can then it might mean more work.
• We had Emelye from Thursday evening until yesterday evening. Its nice having her but I’m looking forward to the break!

Sorry I’ve not been posting very much lately. I have been online, I’ve just been busy with my photo’s and message boards. Anyway, I’m here so hopefully I’ll get back into the habit of blogging again.

I have a job interview on Thursday at La Senza. I’m looking forward to it. Its not the job that I mentioned on my last post, its one I applied for the week before. I would like the other job more, mainly because of the benefits but I wouldn’t turn down this job if I got offered it. At least I’d have decent underwear for a change! I haven’t had a job interview since, well I think it was October 2004! Woah, thats a long time! I don’t really get nervous on job interviews anyway but I can’t believe its been that long since my last one.

I didn’t do the photo’s for that band yesterday. I got a text off the singer about three hours before I was supposed to do them saying that one of the lads had pulled out and he needs to reschedule. I hope they set another date for it because I was looking forward to it. I was looking forward to the cash too since it was going towards a new lens.

There was a fight in the middle of town on Thurday night/Friday morning. One of the lads who was in the fight ended up in  hospital in intensive care because of it. The guitarist, Chris out of Alex’s band is best friends with this lad who’s name Ryan. He died last night because of blood on his brain. You’d think people would learn after what happened where Garry Newlove was concerned but I guess people just don’t give a shit about hurting anyone anymore. Alex and I can’t wait to move out of Warrington.

On Sunday I am finally doing my first paid photography job. I’m really pleased about it. Its some promotional shots for a band and I can’t wait to do it. I’m not getting paid a lot but its half the money towards a cheap lens that I have been wanting. Lets hope this is the start of something.

Alex has been off since yesterday and its nice to finally spend the day with him. Hes been working a lot of overtime this month. Lets hope it pays off. I’ve been applying for retail jobs over the past week. I applied for three last week and two yesterday. I hope something comes of one of them. One of them from yesterday looks promising. I handed my CV into the girl at the desk and she asked me quite a few questions about what days I could work and then as I left she shouted the manager over and I saw him looking at my CV. Its quite a good place to work too so hopefully I get at least an interview. I’m only looking for part-time to begin with. I don’t think I could leave Meghan for 40 hours a week at the moment. I know Alex does it but I have been with her 24/7 for the past sixteen months.

If you read the private post I did yesterday (only one person has asked me for the password so only one person will have) then you’ll know that I injured my hand. I won’t go into how and why, you’ll have to read the private post but I spent about two hours in the hospital last night. It happened on Thursday night and I woke up with the same pain on Friday morning. I got a support bandage from town but I thought I’d better go to the hospital to get it checked out as it was really painful. They thought I had broken my hand but I haven’t. It would have only been a slight break anyway. It does seem to be better today but its still aching all the time. I’ll be alright. I don’t want sympathy. It was my own stupid fault.

I am doing photo’s for Alex’s band tomorrow afternoon. They need new photo’s as the old ones don’t have John in them and he joined not long after they were taken. It’ll be nice for me to get out and take some photo’s. I’m also going to be doing some for a band called The Broadcast at the end of February. The singer used to be the singer in Alex’s old band at the very beginning. He’s the person in this photo which is one of my favourites and was actually in a local newspaper . Anyway, I saw the drummer who I used to go to college with and told him to get John to text me if he wants me to do any photo’s for him. His girlfriend wants me to do photo’s too for a modeling agency. This is totally new for me but I’ll try my best and hopefully I can give her what she wants. Its so nice to be taking photos again. I just wish it was more regular.
