What I love about the Nintendo Wii is that its definitely a family game system. You can see on all the adverts for it that its a family system and that its something that you can all play together on family night. I don’t have four remote’s, only two but even with two we can play together. We all love playing Mario Kart and take turns playing together. The only reason I miss having four is for Mario Party 8. I borrowed my mum’s one evening so that me, Alex and Emelye could play and it was great. We like to play board games but they always take so long to set up and Mario Party 8 is a board game that takes minutes to set up! Meghan’s a bit too young to play Mario Party 8 but she’s great at Mario Kart. I really want to get the new Super Mario Bros game for the Wii soon. I think I might make that my nest big purchase.

Emelye has been saving up for a Nintendo DSi since her birthday. Every bit of birthday money she got, she’s saved it up in her piggy bank along with the Christmas money she got. She’s currently only around £20 short being able to buy one and she got pretty upset about it the other day as she went into town with her Nintendo DS Lite to trade it in for a DSi. Her DS Lite serial number has been taken off so they wouldn’t accept it. I said to Alex that if she had just told us that she wanted a DSi for Christmas then we probably could have sorted one out for her. She never actually told anyone what she wanted for Christmas and she said she wasn’t going to tell Santa either because she didn’t tell him last year and she still got presents! I think she’s growing up a little bit, haha.

I think Alex is going to give her the rest of the money for the DSi because we don’t really buy her anything and she’s done so well saving all her money for it when she could have just gone out and bought something random with it. In the store they had second hand DSi’s but the brand new DSi’s come with extended service plan which is definitely worth paying the extra £10-£15 for. If something goes wrong with it, she can just take it back and get it fixed or replaced. She should have it by next weekend and I can’t wait to see the look on her face when she finally has one.

I haven’t bought any new games for my Wii for a long time. I haven’t even thought about buying a new games console for a while. I seem to go through stages where I want to play on the Wii constantly and stages where I don’t touch it for months. I still play on the Nintendo DS at least three times a week and Meghan uses it a lot more.

Around Christmas time me and Alex usually start looking at console packages that are available to see if we can get one for Christmas. I really miss our Xbox 360 but I would love to add a ps3 to our collection. Hopefully in the next year or so we should be able to treat ourselves to one. I love my Wii but I would just like a few more grown up games. There’s only so much Mario and Animal Crossing you can play before you decide you need to go out there and kill some decent enemies!

Meghan loves to play games, either on a games console or online. I honest have no idea where she gets it from! I’ll end the sarcasm now. She loves to play Mario and asks for that game specifically either on the Gamecube (we haven’t upgraded to the Wii just yet) or on my NDS. The NDS is a bit of a problem right now. She has been ‘playing’ on it constantly for about a week until the other day I hid it. I’ll start by saying that the reason I hid it is the same reason I use the word ‘playing’ lightly. When Meghan plays on my DS she opens and closes it, deletes and overwrites my games and turns it on and off. She’s learnt how to turn it off and on and then select the game again so thats her favourite thing to do. I’m very anal about keeping my things looking new and having all her dirty, sticky fingers all over my screens just makes me want to cry. So yes, I hid the DS and told her Amy has it at her friends house. I’m a terrible mother I know. I’m hoping if I leave it long enough, she’ll totally forget about it and stop mentioning it. Its been about five days now and every time Amy comes over, she asks her for the ‘game.’ I’m guessing I need to give her another week. Or two.

Over the weekend we finally set my old computer up in our bedroom. We had a bit of a move round with the room and got rid of our TV in place of the computer. It was nice to use my old computer for a change. I’ve not been on it for at least a month. I need to buy a wireless dongle for it so that I can use the internet upstairs and I have to transfer all my songs from my hard drive onto the computer so I can listen to music. I also need to look around for some budget software as there are a few things I want to install on there that I’m not prepared to pay full price for! Its a shame I can’t play The Sims 2 upstairs because I rarely get time to play it on my computer downstairs and I know I’d play it in bed. I also need to get ahold of Spore. Have you seen how awesome that game looks!? I have it on my DS but its not that good on there. The graphics are terrible for one. I’ll probably put it on my Christmas list from my parents.

I’m not too bad this morning. Yesterday I felt like absolute crap coughing my head off and my nose being really blocked along with a headache. I had a nap in the afternoon which made me feel better. Better enough to wash the dishes and actually eat something. I wasn’t up all night coughing last night unlike Tuesday night/Wednesday morning but I woke up this morning and I can’t cough because it really hurts my chest. I’m hoping it goes away soon, whatever it is because I’ve not been feeling well since I quit smoking and its getting a bit old now. If I’m not better by Monday I’ll definitely be going to the doctors.

I’ve finally got The Sims 2 (slightly) working on my computer so I’ve been playing that a lot for the past few days. I’m so pleased I’ve got it back because I really missed playing it. I could still use a new video card because my Sims keep going all liney which it kind of annoying. I’m having fun with me and Alex getting us together (we’re both teenagers living with our parents) and making me an expert in cooking, haha. I can’t wait until The Sims 3. Have you been the previews? It looks so good.

The other day I found this slimming pill called nuphedragen that simulates the feeling that cocaine gives you. For those who don’t know, you can’t eat when you take cocaine. It just makes you lose your appetite. I think thats ridiculous. I’m sorry but I’d rather lose weight the old fashioned way. And I plan on doing so over the next few months. I’ll talk about that another time.

I have a moaning toddler on my knee who needs changing and I think could do with a sleep so I better get going. I’m hopefully going to see my mum for a few hours later on. I haven’t spoken to her properly for days and I miss her .

I’m sorry for going MIA over the past four days but my interest in the internet and blogging just seems to be dying. I’ve been feeling rather miserable for the last few days and not really wanted to do anything. The no smoking is going really well though which is a good thing. I bought myself some new underwear on Saturday as a treat to myself for getting to a week. I’ve needed some for a while so it was nice to finally get some. I think I’m going to get some more in the next few weeks as I could do with throwing all my old stuff out.

I’m thinking of maybe starting playing World of Warcraft again. I’ll have to wait until Alex gets paid before I can start as my free month will have expired by now. I might start playing with someone and then I get the idea of what I’m actually supposed to rather than just wandering around completely lost. I’ve been looking at video cards recently as I really want to get a new one both for WoW and so I can play The Sims 2 again. Every time I play it, it crashes on me and I know a video card will fix my problem. Sod it, I’m just going to reinstall it. I’ve just seen that you pay via Paypal and I have cash in Paypal from my blogging. At least I’ll have something to do while Alex is at practice tonight! No you can’t, never mind. I hate it when they say you can pay Paypal but you still have to use a card to pay.

Father’s Day yesterday was nice. We all took Alex breakfast in bed at around 10AM. When we all got dressed we went out for a meal to 15 Cairo. We were originally going to go to the Olive Press but it shut after lunch at 2.30PM and we only got into town at 1.45PM and we didn’t want to have to rush. The meal wasn’t too bad this time but the service was a bit poor and they ended up over charging us but we got it sorted out. We then met up with Alex’s brothers and his dad and went for a drink before we had to get the bus home. I got the girls Tiger Woods ’08 for the Xbox 360 for Alex and a key ring. My present hasn’t come yet (I bought it from Amazon) but I hope he likes it. I don’t want to say what it is in case he decides to come on here . It should be here for Wednesday hopefully.

I can’t get off my DS – well until Meghan gets hold of it and decides she wants a go lol. I’ve just been playing Super Mario Bros and I was on a bit where it was bouncy and I can’t get the feeling away that I’m bouncing! Its really annoying.

Alex and I are spending the rest of the night together so I’m gonna get off. I’ll leave you with this photo from the ones that I’ve finally sorted out of Alex’s gig back at the end of April. I’ve been meaning to do them for weeks but I had about 140 photos and I just couldn’t be bothered, haha.

I honestly feel like I’ve not blogged for about a week. My memory card came for my R4 on Saturday and since then, the only thing that has mattered has been my Nintendo DS. I’m loving being able to play on it again. I’ve been playing mainly Cooking Mama 2, The Sims 2 (which isn’t half bad), Mario Kart DS and I’ve just started playing Animal Crossing: Wild World and I love it. Meghan kept trying to snatch the game off me though so I haven’t played it for very long. I’m hoping Alex plays on GTA IV in bed so I can play on that! So yes, I appologise if I go a bit AWOL but I’m having fun elsewhere. That sounds wrong.

I’m off to Starbucks/Borders with Aimee tonight. I haven’t seen her since my birthday. She was supposed to be just coming round here but then Alex came home from practice last night and said that he wasn’t going tonight. I text Aimee earlier and asked if she wanted to go out instead. We’ll probably be able to talk more if we’re out anyway. There’s too much distraction at home. Plus I’m desperate for a Java Chip Frappachino. Desperate.

I had one of those rare occurrences today that are usually called a “lie in.” They are actually all they’re cracked up to be. Imagine that! Anyway, after staying in bed until 10AM I got up and got myself ready. Alex went to the shop to get some more milk for a cup of tea and came back saying there was a car boot sale on at the community club near our house. I wasn’t really up for it but Alex really likes going so we went after lunch. I’m so glad I went. I’ve been meaning to get Meghan a little plastic table and chairs for a while and I found one today, for a whole £1.50! Meghan loves it and has already drawn all over which I suppose is a good thing but I’m so glad I found it. I pretty much ran over to it and bought it before anyone else had the chance to. I also got myself five books (two of which I’ve been wanting for ages) for £2.25. I’d list them but that would mean walking over to the other side of the living room to get them and you know, I’d rather not.

I’ve just bought a new 2GB Micro SD memory card for my R4 for my DS. I don’t know if I mentioned that Emelye broke my old one a while back. I’ve not got round to buying one until now. Since she did that, Emelye’s not been allowed on my DS and she brought hers today after not bringing it for a while. Its just made me miss playing on my DS. I have Zelda and Pokemon Diamond but I liked all the little games that I had (Cooking Mama, Brain Training) that I could just play for ten minutes and then move on to something else. Hopefully I’ll get it in the next week or so.

Amy’s coming round later on tonight hopefully to dye my hair. I’ve asked her to cut it for me too, just the length as its really doing my head in being so long. I’m not sure how much I want cut off yet but we’ll soon find out! It won’t be anything drastic as I’ll probably cry, haha.

Somehow, I forgot to congratulate the Zoot’s on the birth of AndyZ. I was receiving her Twitter updates so I knew when he was born so I don’t know how it slipped my mind. He’s such a cutie and he makes NikkiZ seem so big!
